Renee Baribeau Bio

Treesunko (Tri unko): The sound between things, the passing animals, the blowing leaves on the trees, the fields of flowers, and the water flowing over rocks on its way to the seas. Renee was given this name by Kinta Rey, a Mapuchi grandmother in , who warned her that the name carried a large responsibility that she would need to grow into one day. She also told her that she was “good for working,” and so Renee’s story goes…

Renee is the Director of the Healing Arts Center in Palm Desert. This center maintains a core community of businesses who believe in standing together as one light in order to heal business and our world, and who wish to attract clients with a holistic approach to wellness and sustainable living. Renee also works as a shamanic coach, teacher, writer, chef, event planner, and gift wrapper for healers.

Shamanic Coach

A shamanic practitioner, Renee has completed a two-year Light Body Training with the Four Winds Society and received rites of passage from the Quero Elders on the mountaintops of Peru.  She has integrated the DNA work of Margaret Ruby, along with a number of other leading edge modalities. Her strong belief in the power of prayer combined with earth based traditions is the basis for her work of service.  Renee has studied with many modern-day mystics and specializes in using creative techniques to bring forth healing potential; she works extensively with early childhood trauma, addictions, and food disorders. Her intuitive gift is the ability to uncover blocks that hide people’s true potential. Renee’s training as a business executive has also developed her practical coaching skills.

Teacher

Renee uses a creative approach in her classes and workshops, which have included the following: Sacred Play, Creating Your Personal Spirit Doll, Tending to Your Sacred Garden, Sweat Lodges, Gift-Wrapping Your Healing Practice, Shamanic Rebirthing, Real Forgiveness, and Introduction to Shamanism. She is currently developing a year-long training program called “The Wheels of Recovery.” This program came to life after Renee conducted 12-step workshops and sensed the need to go beyond that traditional model in recovery from addiction. She also organized the Business of Healing conference in March 2007; this led Renee to focus her intention on the Healing of Business, which she plans to roll out in 2008. She is available for speaking and training engagements.

Renee can help build your marketing program with her graphic design skills, including Internet setup, e-newsletters, brochures, logo design, and other business peripherals.

Additional Information

Renee’s marketing and public relations skills have brought her many life successes. A talented chef who has cooked for dignitaries as well as “regular folk,” she has owned and operated two popular restaurants, started two upscale catering businesses, and worked her way into corporate senior management. This gave her real-world corporate training, which can be more valuable than an advanced degree in business. Her formal degree is in Communications from the University of Maine, but the learning cycle never ends: Renee is particularly interested in the arts and film making. A loyal friend and avid traveler, Renee tenaciously pursues her “work” and is fearless and unrelenting in her pursuit of truth.
